An incredibly special way to connect with your body and your ancient feminine energy whatever your gender. If you do one thing to ground yourself for the big day - do this.
— Zena

Sian and Veronika invite you to a beautiful afternoon of Embodied Birth Preparation at our 2-hour workshop, Birth of a Baby: Preparing for Birth. Connect to the feeling space within yourself and immerse yourself in the power and beauty of birth as you:

  • Develop a new sense of your body’s capabilities through embodied physiology

  • Learn about biomechanics and movement for active birth

  • Use sensory feedback to go inwards using a variety of tools and techniques

  • Explore breath and relaxation skills for your pregnancy, birth and beyond

This summer we are also proud to announce our scope is widening to include a sister workshop, this time dedicated to setting you up for the postpartum you deserve with Birth of a Mother: Preparing for Postpartum.

The 90 minute workshop is designed to help you (and your baby) thrive in the 4th trimester and beyond. We will look in detail at what postpartum is and what you can expect in the early hours, days, weeks, months and years.

Equal parts practical, scientific and socially-grounded, you will gain invaluable insights and start putting together your own personal postpartum plan.

Email us if you have any questions at all, and we hope you can join us soon.

Who is Embodied Birth Preparation for?

Everyone who is pregnant and keen to:

  • Learn more about the process of labour and birth

  • Experience how to use their body and senses to make labour more comfortable, shorter, and reduce the likelihood of interventions

  • Develop connection with themselves and trust in their body

What will the Preparing for Birth workshop cover?

I really enjoyed the workshop, and found the tips and techniques shared helpful to start reflecting and practising for labour.
— Lucia
  • Physical positions, movement and biomechanics

  • The how and why of working with our 5 senses during pregnancy and birth

  • Relaxation techniques

  • Self reflection prompts to help unpack your feelings around birth

When is the best time to attend Embodied Birth Preparation during pregnancy?

Anytime after the first trimester of pregnancy. We will go at a pace that works for everyone and there will be comfort and snack breaks and plenty of movement - you won’t be sitting for the whole workshop.

What will I leave the Preparing for Birth workshop with?

  • A better understanding of birthing and how you want to do it

  • Practical tools to support physiological and home birth

  • Relaxation and connection techniques to use anytime

Do I need to bring or wear anything special?

A journal and pens, water bottle, and comfortable layers you can move in. Mats, props, healthy snacks and teas will be provided.
